Half-a-Mill

The late great Half-a-Mill was a “Project Prophet” from Albany Projects in Brooklyn, NY. The underground Hip-Hop legend collaborated with The Firm (AZ, Nas, Nature and Foxy Brown) and was featured on their self-titled album in 1997. The following year, Half-a-Mill was featured on AZ’s second album Pieces of a Man. His song “Some Niggaz” was featured on the Belly soundtrack.

Independent filmmaker Maggie Hadleigh-West followed Half-a-Mill as he struggled to release his debut album Milion (2000) as an independent music artist on his own record label, Warlock Records. The documentary Player Hating: A Love Story captures raw footage of the “Project Prophet” and his friends, as they prepare to launch Milion.

Half-a-Mill’s second album Da Hustle Don’t Stop was released in 2002 before his untimely death the following year.
